Senior Estimator
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to lead and support all phases of the estimating process—from early-stage budgeting through final bid and subcontractor buyout. The Estimator will be responsible for developing cost estimates, conducting value engineering exercises, analyzing drawings and specifications, preparing scopes of work, and coordinating with internal teams and subcontractors. This role plays a key part in supporting preconstruction, business development, and project operations. Projects may include new construction and interior renovations across sectors such as multifamily, healthcare, commercial, education, hospitality, and institutional work.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate conceptual and detailed cost estimates at various stages of project development
- Interpret drawings and specifications to define scope and determine quantities
- Develop and manage bid packages and solicit subcontractor pricing
- Conduct bid leveling and support subcontractor/vendor selection
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and preconstruction teams on planning and execution
- Participate in value engineering and cost-saving analysis
- Support proposal development and presentations for new project pursuits
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction means, methods, materials, and industry pricing
- Contribute to the development and standardization of estimating procedures and best practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- 10+ years of estimating experience within multifamily construction
- Familiar with the Connecticut market
- Proficient in estimating and take-off software
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
- Prior experience in construction estimating, preferably across diverse project types
- Positive, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset
