Senior Real Estate Counsel

A leading real estate investment firm is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel with a strong real estate transactional background to support sophisticated joint venture and affordable housing transactions. This is a highly visible role partnering with investment, development, and executive leadership teams to structure, negotiate, and close joint venture transactions while providing strategic legal guidance throughout the investment lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the structuring, negotiation, and execution of complex joint venture agreements.
• Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, operating agreements, development agreements, and financing documents.
• Advise on acquisitions, development, financing, asset management, and dispositions.
• Partner with investment and development teams on LIHTC, tax-exempt bond, and conventional financing transactions.
• Manage legal due diligence and coordinate with outside counsel, lenders, investors, and development partners.
• Provide strategic legal guidance throughout the investment lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• J.D. and active bar admission.
• 10+ years of commercial real estate transactional experience, including significant experience at a top law firm.
• Extensive experience negotiating joint ventures and complex real estate transactions.
• Experience with affordable housing, LIHTC, and real estate finance strongly preferred.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and business judgment with the ability to advise senior stakeholders.
