Controller/CFO

Privately held investment and management firm is seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller / CFO to join its team. The organization maintains a diversified and expanding portfolio of assets across various sectors, including real estate and select operating businesses. The Controller/CFO will serve as a key member of the team, responsible for leading all financial strategy, accounting operations, and financial planning functions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in finance and accounting and thrive in a lean, entrepreneurial environment with a broad range of responsibilities across multiple business lines.

Responsibilities:

• Lead all financial, accounting, and operational functions across the organization
• Maintain and oversee general ledger systems
• Supervise Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable
• Prepare and manage annual budgets and cash flow forecasts
• Review and oversee account reconciliations and financial controls
• Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting packages for ownership
• Support audit, tax, and compliance activities in collaboration with external partners
• Manage the day-to-day accounting and finance needs of the business

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• CPA designation preferred
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably within a real estate, family office or closely held business environment
• Prior experience in both public accounting and private/corporate settings preferred
• Experience with software such as Yardi, QuickBooks, and/or ERP systems
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a lean team
