Accounting Manager / Controller - Energy
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the company's day-to-day accounting functions as well as handling month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day accounting functions
- Prepare schedules and journal entries in the general ledger
- Create and maintain financial reports
- Monitor and review financial and bank statements by establishing internal controls to ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely
- Manage accounts payable
- Analyze, review, and report financial data and transactions
- Perform monthly-end close and reconciliations
- Manage monthly revenue recognition and accruals
- Prepare financial statements in compliance with GAAP
- Providing support to external auditors
- Identify and research technical accounting and reporting matters, accounting principles and financial reporting rules
- Document accounting policies and procedures
- Stay current with potential changes in accounting standards and inform leadership
- Collaborate with and respond to ad hoc requests from key stakeholders within the organization
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
- 4+ years of public and private accounting experience
- Experience in the energy sector is required
- CPA is a plus
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, etc.
- Proficient with MS Office, specifically Excel
