Director of Operations - Real Estate

Growing private real estate investment and management firm is seeking a hands-on Director of Real Estate Operations to oversee a boutique portfolio of residential and commercial assets in Tampa. This leadership role combines strategic portfolio oversight with day-to-day operational execution and is ideal for an entrepreneurial real estate professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.

Responsibilities:

• Drive portfolio performance through occupancy optimization, revenue growth, expense management, and tenant retention initiatives
• Oversee daily operations across a boutique portfolio of residential and commercial properties
• Lead and manage on-site maintenance and leasing teams
• Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, and capital improvement projects
• Monitor and analyze operational and financial reporting to support asset performance and strategic decision-making
• Implement and improve operational systems, workflows, and property management processes
• Support onboarding and integration of newly acquired assets
• Ensure properties are maintained to high operational and aesthetic standards

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of property management and/or real estate operations experience
• Experience managing both multifamily and commercial office assets preferred
• Strong financial and operational analysis skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, or related field preferred
• Experience with Yardi Breeze or similar property management software
• Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong attention to detail and accountability
• Industry certifications such as CPM, RPA, or CAPS are a plus
• Ability to operate effectively in a lean, growth-oriented environment
