Mechanical Engineer - Luxury Residential

A leading NYC real estate developer is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the design and delivery of luxury high-rise residential and mixed-use developments. This role focuses on HVAC design, mechanical system coordination, and construction support, ensuring efficient, code-compliant building systems from design through project completion.

Responsibilities:

• Lead HVAC and mechanical system design for high-rise residential and mixed-use projects.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing teams throughout design and construction.
• Prepare and review mechanical drawings, specifications, and BIM models (Revit preferred).
• Ensure compliance with NYC Mechanical Code, Energy Code, and ASHRAE standards.
• Review RFIs, shop drawings, and submittals while supporting construction administration.
• Perform load calculations, optimize system performance, and support commissioning.
• Conduct site visits, resolve field issues, and participate in value engineering initiatives.

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of mechanical engineering experience in building systems.
• Extensive experience designing HVAC systems for high-rise residential buildings.
• Proficiency with HVAC design software (Trane Trace, HAP, or similar) and Revit MEP.
• Strong knowledge of NYC Mechanical Code, ASHRAE standards, and BIM coordination.
• Excellent project management, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with luxury residential developments, central plant and VRF systems, and a PE license is preferred
