Family Law Paralegal


Our client is a small, dynamic Family Law Firm looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced paralegal to join their team. In this role, you will support attorneys by drafting legal documents, preparing for trials, conducting legal research, and maintaining well-organized case files and documentation.


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate closely with attorneys to prepare legal documents, including petitions, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and declarations.
  • Assist in trial preparation by organizing exhibits, supporting client meetings, filing motions, conducting legal research, and coordinating witnesses.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as answering phone calls and maintaining an organized case filing system for easy access to documents.
  • Conduct initial client interviews to collect information related to legal issues.
  • Coordinate office activities, including drafting subpoenas and liaising with process servers.
  • Support other paralegals and attorneys with mailings and filings.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to update them on the status of their cases.


Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a paralegal in a law firm, with preferred experience in Family Law.
  • 1+ years of Family Law experience, ideally in California.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software
  • Familiarity with California Code of Civil Procedure.
  • In-depth knowledge of Family Law terminology, court procedures, judicial decisions, and Family Law regulations.
  • ABA-approved paralegal certificate (Associate's degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies).
  • Paralegal certification or advanced paralegal education required.
  • Experience with case management systems.
