Controller - Family Office

A newly formed family office is seeking a Finance & Accounting Director / Controller to help build the financial infrastructure of the organization from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to join at the ground floor, working directly with the COO/CFO and coordinating with top-tier advisors. The family office supports multiple family branches with significant operating businesses, real estate holdings, and diversified investments across California.

Responsibilities:

• Establish accounting systems, controls, and financial reporting
• Oversee outsourced accounting operations and financial consolidation
• Track and analyze investment performance across asset classes
• Support investment diligence, capital allocation, and financial modeling
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and investment managers
• Assist with strategic initiatives across operating businesses and real estate

Qualifications:

• 5–10 years of accounting/finance experience
• Strong GAAP and financial modeling capabilities
• Experience with complex entity structures or family office environments
• CPA/CFA preferred
• Highly organized, discreet, and comfortable in an entrepreneurial setting
