Estimator - General Contractor

The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial painting and wallcovering projects. This role involves analyzing drawings and specifications, performing material and labor takeoffs, soliciting subcontractor and vendor pricing, and supporting the sales and project management teams with budgeting and bid proposals.

Responsibilities:

• Review project plans, specifications, and scopes of work to prepare detailed estimates
• Perform site visits and attend pre-bid meetings as needed
• Prepare quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
• Develop and submit complete and timely bid proposals
• Collaborate with project management team to ensure estimates align with production expectations
• Maintain accurate cost databases and historical pricing records

Qualifications:

• 3+ years estimating experience in commercial painting or related construction trade
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
• Solid understanding of commercial construction practices and industry pricing
• Driven, organized and strong work ethic
