Senior Property Accountant

Rapidly growing multifamily & affordable housing developer is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join its team. This role will oversee financial reporting for a portfolio of properties and review work performed by Staff Accountants.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee monthly and annual financial reporting for assigned property portfolio
• Review Staff Accountant work and provide training/support as needed
• Prepare monthly reporting packages, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance
• Coordinate with Property Management teams to ensure accurate financial close
• Manage audit preparation and communication with external auditors
• Support loan conversions, capital contribution requests, and surplus cash calculations
• Assist with corporate, treasury, and other ad hoc accounting projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 3+ years of property accounting experience; LIHTC and/or HUD experience a plus
• CPA a plus
• Experience with MRI, Yardi, RealPage, Sage 300, or similar systems
• Strong Excel skills
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
