Senior Property Accountant

A vertically integrated real estate investment and development firm is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to support a growing portfolio of commercial and mixed-use assets. This individual will work closely with asset management, property management, and leadership teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle property accounting for a portfolio of commercial and mixed-use assets
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Perform month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of all financial data
• Prepare CAM reconciliations, tenant billings, and rent rolls
• Analyze variances and provide insights to asset management and leadership
• Coordinate with property management teams on budgets, forecasts, and reporting
• Assist with annual budgeting and reforecasting processes
• Support audit and tax processes, including preparation of workpapers
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies

Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of commercial property accounting experience
• Yardi proficiency required
• Retail and/or mixed-use experience preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and real estate accounting
• Proficiency in Excel
• Strong attention to detail and organized
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
