Senior Property Accountant

Growing real estate investment and development firm is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join its finance team. This individual will play a key role in financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, and portfolio accounting for a diverse real estate portfolio. Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements and reporting packages for real estate entities and investment portfolios.
• Analyze operating results and assist with budget-to-actual reporting, forecasting, and annual budgeting.
• Support investment accounting, including equity method accounting and intercompany reconciliations.
• Assist with annual audits and year-end reporting requirements.
• Perform cash management functions, bank reconciliations, and monitor lender and tax reporting obligations.
• Support onboarding of newly acquired assets and coordinate with property management and asset management teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and system efficiencies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of real estate accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting.
• CPA a plus
• Experience with property accounting or real estate ERP systems such as Yardi, MRI, RealPage, or JD Edwards.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
