CFO - Commercial Real Estate

Private real estate investment firm is seeking a strategic, hands-on CFO to build and scale the finance function across multiple entities. This role partners directly with the CEO and ownership to support growth, capital strategy, and institutional-level reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Recruit, mentor, and develop accounting, treasury, and reporting teams
• Establish structure, performance metrics, and succession planning within finance
• Design and implement scalable systems and standardized processes across entities
• Implement strong internal controls and optimize financial software platforms
• Partner with Asset Management, Acquisitions, Construction, and Operations to align financial performance with strategy
• Lead financial integration of acquisitions and support expansion into new markets or asset classes
• Oversee treasury, cash management, and capital planning
• Support capital raises, refinancings, and lender/investor reporting
• Serve as strategic advisor to CEO and ownership, providing forward-looking financial insights
• Represent the organization with lenders, investors, and external partners

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably within real estate investment, development, or operating platforms
• Experience building and scaling finance teams in multi-entity environments
• Strong GAAP accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls background
• Experience working with lenders, equity partners, and institutional investors
• Proven involvement in capital raises, refinancings, and acquisitions
• Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills
• Systems-oriented with experience implementing or upgrading financial platforms
• Strong executive presence and communication skills
• CPA strongly preferred
