Assistant Controller
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Controller to lead the accounting function across multiple business and personal entities. This role will oversee day-to-day financial operations, implement efficient accounting systems and controls, and ensure regulatory compliance across diverse industries and geographies.
Responsibilities:
Accounting Operations & Financial Oversight
- Lead and manage operational accounting functions across multiple entities (corporate and personal)
- Prepare and consolidate financial statements with internal teams and external accounting partners
- Manage P&L statements, AR/AP, cash flow, bill payments, and royalty reconciliations
- Maintain accounting systems, ensuring process efficiency and compliance with GAAP and tax regulations
- Monitor and improve internal controls and financial procedures
- Partner with tax and legal professionals for entity structuring and regulatory reporting
Financial Planning & Reporting
- Develop budgets and forecasts in collaboration with business unit leaders
- Track performance metrics and prepare financial reports for leadership
- Drive financial accountability and ownership across departments
- Support strategic decision-making with actionable financial insights
People & Vendor Management
- Manage payroll, employee expense reporting, and benefits administration
- Oversee banking relationships and vendor coordination
- Supervise support staff or external contractors as needed
Compliance & Administration
- Ensure tax filings, insurance policies, and registrations are current and accurate
- Support audits and year-end reporting
- Maintain accurate documentation for all financial entities and transactions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
- 7–10 years of experience in corporate accounting, preferably within entrepreneurial or multi-entity environments
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, Bill.com
- Knowledge of GAAP; international accounting experience a plus
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- High degree of confidentiality, ownership, and initiative
