Assistant Controller


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Controller to lead the accounting function across multiple business and personal entities. This role will oversee day-to-day financial operations, implement efficient accounting systems and controls, and ensure regulatory compliance across diverse industries and geographies.


Responsibilities:


Accounting Operations & Financial Oversight

  • Lead and manage operational accounting functions across multiple entities (corporate and personal)
  • Prepare and consolidate financial statements with internal teams and external accounting partners
  • Manage P&L statements, AR/AP, cash flow, bill payments, and royalty reconciliations
  • Maintain accounting systems, ensuring process efficiency and compliance with GAAP and tax regulations
  • Monitor and improve internal controls and financial procedures
  • Partner with tax and legal professionals for entity structuring and regulatory reporting


Financial Planning & Reporting

  • Develop budgets and forecasts in collaboration with business unit leaders
  • Track performance metrics and prepare financial reports for leadership
  • Drive financial accountability and ownership across departments
  • Support strategic decision-making with actionable financial insights


People & Vendor Management

  • Manage payroll, employee expense reporting, and benefits administration
  • Oversee banking relationships and vendor coordination
  • Supervise support staff or external contractors as needed


Compliance & Administration

  • Ensure tax filings, insurance policies, and registrations are current and accurate
  • Support audits and year-end reporting
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all financial entities and transactions


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
  • 7–10 years of experience in corporate accounting, preferably within entrepreneurial or multi-entity environments
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, Bill.com
  • Knowledge of GAAP; international accounting experience a plus
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • High degree of confidentiality, ownership, and initiative

  • Experience working with creative, entertainment, or lifestyle-focused businesses
  • Background in working across multiple time zones and international structures
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
